My Story

Who the heck am I?

Hey there, I'm K. Christine. I am a new indie author breaking the norm. By that I mean, I don't think I'm  doing anything the way you're “supposed to do it.”

I do not come from a writing background… at ALL. My entire career has been environmental based. I started my career as a park ranger for the Department of Environmental Protection, then spent some time as a Zookeeper caring for Rhinos, Giraffes, Hippos, Antelope, and other hoof stock species. I now work for a state non-profit geared toward litter prevention and waste reduction.

So why am I writing a book?

This was always a dream of mine when I was little. It has also always been that dream others laughed at, and made to feel like it was unattainable. Thanks to a crazy dream I had when I was doped up on some Nyquil and the support of some pretty amazing friends I decided I would try, even if its just to say I followed through for the inner younger version of myself.

She deserves to see this become reality.

In the press

See what my Beta readers have said:

Usually Beta readers get a pretty polished version of a story to critique… However my Beta readers were thrown into my FIRST draft, as in awful grammar, word vomit, mess of a thing haha. But I wanted feedback before I put all of my energy into this story to see if it was worth it. I wanted to know people might actually like what I'm doing. With this I asked them to give it a rough rating in the current state, with a follow up question of it would be rated higher with revisions and professional editing. So I want to be transparent and show the current reviews I have from my Beta readers and some of their feedback when asked how they felt about the story overall.

I enjoyed it very much and I was hooked from the start. The story was interesting and engaging. I kept wanting to know what would happen next.
